Accounting Manager (Aircraft Financing) 

Based in BUD – Office 

 

 

Purpose of the position:

The Accounting Manager join a team that manages the Wizz Air Group’s financial reporting and disclosures to shareholders and regulators. This position plays a pivotal role in the accounting processes related to aircraft leases, the most significant financing arrangements of the Group.

The Accounting team at Wizz Air has fully outsourced transactional accounting and as such is providing value-added services to the Group.

The role is reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Take part in or lead projects that improve the performance of accounting operations (efficiency, quality and timeliness), including further digitization of our processes.
  • Contribute to monthly book closings
  • Support external and internal audits
  • Owning master data and maintenance inventory-related processes of the Group
  • Cooperate with, and in your areas control the work of, the outsourced accounting services provider of the Group.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Finalized university or college degree in economics, majoring in finance or accounting
  • Firm understanding of key accounting concepts, particularly IFRS
  • 5+ years’ work experience in a similar area, preferably at a multinational company
  • Good Excel knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal skills, primarily leadership, thinking/problem solving and communication.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fluent English
  • IFRS 16 related knowledge is an advantage
  • International accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, etc) is an advantage
  • Experience in the use of ERP systems is an advantage
