Job Description

The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking an AI (Artificial Intelligence) & Data Integration Engineer (with option of working in a Hybrid role) for immediate employment within our Traffic/ITS/Technology Department in the Austin, TX office. The position provides the opportunity to work on exciting, challenging, and high-profile data and technology projects.

Job Description

The Candidate will be responsible for designing, coding, and optimizing processes and data flows that enable the integration of various data sources, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and accessibility of information. They will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, planners, and others to create solutions that provide intelligence. Join a team of experienced technology solution experts to create innovative solutions applying new and emerging technology to transportation.

Job Functions include:

  • Develop, test, and deploy AI and ML models to address complex challenges in engineering and design
  • Manage data-related tasks, including data modeling, database management, and data visualization
  • Participate in various data and software development projects outside of AI/ML, adapting to different technologies and methodologies as required
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to integrate AI/ML solutions and contribute to other software/data-centric projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines
  • Provide enhancements to the existing Apps and configure new Apps as needed
  • Working closely with Technology staff to meet development standards and guidelines
  • Gather client business requirements to comprehensively understand their data needs and objectives to tailor an effective solution
  • Develop Presentations to internal and external customers
  • Efficiently manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Good communication skills and team spirit
  • Work in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Vision AI, including image recognition, computer vision algorithms, and related technologies
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms like Azure Cloud and Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency with Azure Data Lake, Google Big Query, Amazon RedShift, Oracle, SQL,
  • Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience or demonstrated equivalency
  • Proficiency in one of the programming languages (Python, Java, C++)
  • Proficiency in deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.) and libraries commonly used in NLP and Generative AI.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to identify and independently pursue new AI/ML projects and opportunities aligned with organizational goals
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Experience working with Geospatial (ESRI, QGIS, Other) and Business Intelligence platforms (Tableau, PowerBI, Other)
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPlatform and PowerQuery

Additional Information

  • Offered rate of compensation (Texas locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $100,000 – $148,000/yr.
