Job Description:

Parsons Federal Solutions is seeking a talented and motivated AI/ML Solutions Engineering Intern to join our innovative team, focusing on Infrastructure Engineering and OPIR Data Modeling. As an AI/ML Intern, you will work closely with our AI Specialist to support the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven solutions that optimize and enhance our business operations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in applying AI techniques to real-world problems and contribute to projects that improve efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making processes.  

Key Responsibilities: 

• Data Handling: Collect, preprocess, and analyze large datasets to support the training of AI models 

• Model Development: Assist in developing and training machine learning models using relevant algorithms and techniques. 

• Collaboration: Work closely with different departments and the AI Specialist to understand requirements and integrate AI solutions into existing workflows. 

• Research: Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning and suggest innovative techniques to improve tool performance. 

• Documentation: Help maintain comprehensive documentation of AI models, processes, and results for future reference and continuous improvement. 

• Perform other team-supportive job-related duties, as assigned. 

Qualifications and Requirements: 

• Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field. 

• Must spend a minimum of 10 weeks at Parsons ideally in a full-time capacity! If your project cannot support full-time, part-time is acceptable.  

• U.S. internship candidates but be U.S. Persons. 

• Candidates must be a collegiate or university student meaning they are currently enrolled and will be in pursuit of their university degree for the full duration they are an intern at Parsons.  

Technical Skills: 

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, R, or Java 

• Understanding of data preprocessing (e.g. SQL, Hadoop, Spark), feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques.  

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for deploying AI solutions is a plus. 

• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases. 

• Familiarity with version control systems like Git. 

• Experience with Bash or other shell programming environment. Familiarity with Linux is a plus.  

• Experience in developing AI and machine learning models is a plus. 

• Basic knowledge of machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) is a plus. 

Soft Skills: 

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities. 

• Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions. 

• Innovative Mindset: Enthusiasm for exploring new AI technologies and methodologies to improve existing processes. 

Certifications: 

• Security+ certification is desired but not required 

Minimum Clearance Required to Start: 

• Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance 

• Secret Clearance to be sponsored as part of this opportunity

Salary Range: 

$21.44 – $37.55
