Analyst, Provider Data Senior
Job Description
HealthPartners senior business analyst provider data is responsible for delivering solutions that enhance the completeness and accuracy of our provider data while ensuring timeliness and compliance with regulatory standards. They work collaboratively in scrum teams with developers, product owners, UX, and QA representatives to achieve sprint goals. These analysts maintain a deep understanding of a business domain, its data, and associated processes, providing visualization, analysis, validation, and consultation services. Together with their teams, they build scalable solutions to extract insights from contracted provider and network data. They partner with domain experts, data operations specialists, and business groups to frame problems, identify source data, clean and integrate data, and determine the best ways to leverage this data to inform business decisions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, business, computer science, data or social science, operations research, statistics, or a related quantitative field. Alternate experience and education in equivalent areas is acceptable.
- Five years experience working within complex databases to extract data, identify trends, and provide analysis and recommendations or decisions
- Two years’ experience using data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Experience diagramming processes and/or data flows
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational database design
- Familiarity with Python, R or similar
- Some working knowledge or training using technical and analytical skills to extract, integrate, layout and interpret complex and disparate data sources
- Must be motivated, self-driven, curious, and creative
- Ability to communicate and work with diverse development or operations teams, end users and business partners
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of health care operations
- Ability to tell stories using data
- Exposure to agile/scrum (including tools like JIRA)
- Some knowledge or programming skills using Python, R, or similar
- Some knowledge of Microsoft Power Automate or UI Path
- Familiarity with software development, data and integration architecture
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
(30%) – Develop and optimize datasets and reporting or data visualization solutions for business needs while leveraging internal and external sources to validate data accuracy when necessary.
(30%) – Understand and investigate business needs and requirements to create “user stories”; they support opportunities to leverage data analytics in service of customer or business value
(10%) – Develops, produces, and validates complex ad hoc reports. Develops and modifies existing reporting programs
(10%) – Manage and coordinate the planning, development, and implementation of CPNP applications and enhancements for a specific piece of CPNP or related datasets
(10%) – Executes test cases to validate that analytic and software solutions meet the business acceptance
(5%) – Participates in strategic measurement activities, including Return on Investment (ROI) analyses, Key Performance Indicator (KPI) development, risk assessment and indexing, as well as domain-specific measurements
(5%) – May provide consultative, data-driven support on product and business strategy development
