The Knix Data team is seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer who will be pivotal in building, maintaining, and optimizing our data models and analytics platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in DBT (data build tool) and Looker, combined with a rich background in E-Commerce data modelling and product analytics. This role requires the development of innovative solutions to complex data challenges, enhancing our analytics capabilities and providing strategic insights that support our business objectives. You will be instrumental in transforming raw data into insightful, actionable business intelligence, driving our strategic decisions through data.

The Opportunity

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust data models for analytics engineering infrastructure using DBT to support data analysis, business intelligence, and data science teams.
  • Write complex production grade SQL to create scalable analytics solutions (dashboards, data models, alerts, tools) to enable self-serve reporting and analysis capabilities of your users.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to extract requirements for data modelling, reporting and visualization, ensuring high data quality and relevance.
  • Apply strong SQL skills and Looker PDT (Persistent Derived Tables) to manipulate and deliver large datasets in digestible format to business stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to apply data modelling and advance analytics techniques to drive insights and leverage Looker to create compelling and accurate data visualizations and dashboards, ensuring they meet business requirements.
  • Work with product analytics tools such as Amplitude, Segment in Snowflake to analyze data structure and data schemas.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering with strong knowledge of data modelling techniques and relational databases
  • 2+ years of experience with data exploration tools such as Looker or Tableau and data transformation tools like DBT. 
  • Experience in DBT, looker and snowflake are a must have.
  • Proficient at using SQL for data pipeline development in a modern data stack such as Fivetran, Snowflake and DBT.
  • Ability to take complex data and model it to present it in a clear manner to cross-functional groups.
  • Exceptional skills in workflow orchestration, data modelling, and analytics.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Python is a plus.
