About the Role

Hex’s Data team is focused on using data to enable execution and decisions in our rapidly growing business.

As a Senior Analytics Engineer joining our growing Data team, you’ll partner with our GTM and product organizations as we scale. You’ll improve our team’s ability to use data in everyday decisions, big and small. We’re focused on unblocking new strategies and understanding for our leadership team while ensuring our world-class data stack continues to operate smoothly.

What you’ll do

  • Improve and maintain the infrastructure in our stack, which includes Snowflake, Segment, AWS, Fivetran, dbt, Hightouch, and of course, Hex!
  • Work with stakeholders to define, iterate, and measure core business metrics
  • Build and improve on dbt models so that it’s easy for Hexans to gain insight and answer questions about our business
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and design to keep our data stack updated and our business well-measured as we rapidly scale
  • Maintain a high level of quality and reliability in our data stack
  • Communicate and train people on how to best use Hex as a data workspace
  • Define and improve our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for data infrastructure at scale

What you’ll bring

You care about enabling others to make great decisions and do their best work with data. You understand that data is a team sport and you’re excited to join our team at Hex. Experiences and skills you have include:

  • 2+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer, or equivalent years working with analytics engineering best practices regardless of title
  • A track record of working to maximize business impact by navigating ambiguity and focusing on unblocking the functions you support
  • Passion for building the best version of whatever you’re working on
  • Expertise in maintaining data warehouses, ETL, rETL, and BI tools
  • Fluency in SaaS metrics and a track record of partnering with GTM or product teams. Experience in a B2B context is preferred.
