Your mission
In this role as Analytics Engineer your mission will be responsible for ensuring our Visualizations platforms delivers a high-quality experience which will enable The Workshop and its clients to transform and report upon their data. Your primary focus will be on upholding the highest standards of quality, all the while uncovering and seizing opportunities for expansion.
What you´ll do
- Ensure that our Visualization platforms instance is fit for purpose and provides a quality experience for all users.
- Establish and maintain a framework for handling reporting security.
- Develop and own Admin Visualization reporting.
- Own relationships with key individuals across our internal and external clients.
- Cross train peers in the Visualization platforms administration.
- Work closely with colleagues in the Data Group, Analytics Team and with business stakeholders.
- Work closely with the IT department to coordinate and validate common. procedures such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, deployment etc.
- Ensure performance, security, and availability of mission critical data.
What you´ll bring
- 5+ years IT experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in one of the following roles supporting mission critical production environments: Tableau Server Administration (on-premise or Cloud).
Knowledge of:
- Code versioning tools (GIT, SVN, etc.).
- Scripting languages or programming frameworks (Bash, Python, Java, etc.).
- Current industry standards and best practices.
- Advanced knowledge of analytics and/or Data Warehousing concepts and methodologies.
- Experience with SQL.
Non-technical:
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Open minded, willing to share knowledge and learn new skills.
- Be a driven & curious learner, capable of identifying your own areas of self-development and leveraging available resources to grow your expertise.
Experience of the following would be useful but is not essential:
- Superset, Redash, Metabase.
- Containerization (Docker/ Kubernetes).
- System admin and tuning of Linux based servers.
- MySQL/Postgres Database administration.
- Cloud platform solutions (AWS/GCP/Azure).
