About the Team
Sitting in the Casualty Underwriting Office, the Casualty Data & Analytics team is a multi-national team that aims to provide a one-stop shop offering insights and guidance all analytics needs of Casualty Underwriting, Actuarial and Steering teams.

About the Role

This position is an exciting opportunity to join the Actuarial and Analytics function located in Bangalore. The focus of this role would be to design and support of the existing and future underwriting tool and data landscape. With your outcome-centric data skills, you will ingest data from various sources, build data model and generate insights to help our clients. You will explore options for integrating data between systems, improve data quality and highlight gaps. You will turn your ideas into reality. The outcome of your work would be new dashboards in our analytics solution or even totally new data-driven solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Acquire and aggregate data from primary and secondary data sources and maintain data model.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in underwriting data.
- Create visualizations, dashboards, and reports to present insights and findings to stakeholders and management.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to support data-driven decision-making.
- Analyses and interprets reports and data to effectively position recommendations to increase profitability.
- Monitor key performance indicators and provide regular reporting on industry performance, underwriting trends and portfolio steering indicators.
About You
We are happy to meet you if you possess:
- University degree in Computer Science/Mathematics/Statics
- Demonstrated ability in a role analyzing significant data volumes.
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- Experience in a role where business requirements are met with technology solutions and then supporting those applications/solutions.
- Proficient in SQL, at least one programming language (e.g., Python) and reporting / data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau/Power BI).
- Passion about Agile principles and are excited to embed them into your daily work.
- A continuous improvement mind-set and dedication to uncovering better ways of working.
- “CAN DO” mentality and willingness to learn new technologies to continuously upskill.
- Ability to prioritize and apply sound commercial judgment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Basic knowledge of (re)insurance concepts is a plus.
