The team focuses on creating new spatial speech and audio technologies and pushes them to global applications. We currently have an exciting internship opportunity for the rest of the year 2024 related to speech and audio coding with machine learning (ML) methods.

What you will learn and contribute to

As part of our team, you will:

  • Obtain an overview of the current state of the art in speech and audio signal coding with ML-based methods, with hands-on experimentation with the methods.
  • Participate with the team members in technical and perceptual evaluation of solutions found in the literature. Depending on the progress, participate and contribute to the development of novel ML-based speech and audio coding methods.
  • Document the results and communicate them to the rest of the team.
  • Learn about the current state of the art in immersive audio technologies and their standardization directly from the experts.

Your skills and experience

 You have:

  • Good collaboration and communication skills (English mandatory) along with the capability of solving challenging problems independently.

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Experience or personal interest in subjective evaluation of audio, e.g., listening tests or other critical listening.
  • Experience in speech and audio coding methods.
  • Experience in spatial audio processing.
