Job Requirements

Mandatory Skills

 

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; or equivalent (minimum 12+ years overall work experience). 
  • Designing and implementing highly performant data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources using azure Native services
  • Delivering and presenting proofs of concept of key technology components to project stakeholders.
  • Developing scalable and re-usable frameworks for ingesting and enriching datasets using Azure native services
  • Integrating the end-to-end data pipeline to take data from discrete source systems to target data store.
  • At least 9+ years of experience in developing data ingestion, data processing and analytical pipelines for big data, relational databases such as SQL server and data warehouse solutions such as Synapse.
  • Extensive experience providing practical direction within the Azure Native services.
  • Extensive hands-on experience implementing data ingestion, ETL and data processing using Azure services: ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Synapse/DW, Azure SQL DB, Event Hub, IOT Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Analysis Service, Databricks, Azure Purview, Cosmo DB etc.
  • Minimum of 9+ years of hands-on experience in Azure and Big Data technologies such as Java, Python, SQL, ADLS/Blob, Spark/SparkSQL,Azure Databricks.
  • Well versed in DevSecOps and CI/CD deployments
  • Cloud migration methodologies and processes including tools like Azure Data Factory, Data Migration Service, Event Hub , etc.
  • Experience in using Big Data File Formats and compression techniques.
  • Experience with cloud architectures, pros/cons, and migration considerations.
  • Flexible and proactive/self-motivated working style with strong personal ownership of problem resolution.
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal formal and informal).
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be a team player and enjoy working in a cooperative and collaborative team environment.
  • Experience working with other engineers in defining data engineering best practices and leveraging software development life cycle best practices such as agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience with the Azure Purview for metadata management, Data Governance, Data Lineage, Data Catalog etc.
  • Knowledge on Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Co-pilot, Gen AI fundamentals and industry supporting use cases.

An Azure Data Engineering Manager is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure for an organization using Azure cloud services. This includes creating data pipelines, integrating data from various sources, and implementing data security and privacy measures. The Azure Data Engineering Manager will also be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting data flows and optimizing data storage and processing for performance and cost efficiency. 

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in­­­­­ Azure Dev/Ops environment with tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services, Terraform etc.
  • Direct experience in building data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Apache Spark (preferably Synapse/Databricks).
  • Knowledge of Azure RBAC and IAM. Understanding access controls and security on Azure Cloud.
  • Inclined with Microsoft vision and road map around latest tools and technologies in market.
  • Microsoft certification’s role based. (DP600, DP203 ,DP900, AI102, AI900..)
  • Microsoft Powerbi hands on and working knowledge, to create reports/dashboards and generate insights for business users.
