Job Description

As an experienced BI Analyst, you will be working closely with the cross-functional teams to create, modify, troubleshoot, and automate the availability of timely and accurate data, along with providing actionable business intelligence, to satisfy external and internal customers. 

Adhering to tight timescales and managing the integrity of the MI Process, is essential to ensure all data and reports are accurate, current, complete, and consistent. You’ll interpret and analyse raw data, creating meaningful reports, decks and dashboards, which translate well to a non-technical audience and confidently present to internal and external stakeholders.

There will also be an emphasis on identifying opportunities to drive changes that help transform outcomes, together with introducing methods to update, simplify, and enhance data processes, procedures, and technologies.

What you’ll do…

  • Extract clean and manage data from disparate data sources. 
  • Document key metrics and related definitions. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external clients to perform data and process analyses.
  • Define requirements and provide simplified explanations.
  • Synthesize data and feedback from users, clients, and management.
  • Contribute to short and long-term goal setting.
  • Develop action plans and aid in accountability.
  • Collaborate regularly with various teams from customer services, technology, commercial operations, finance, and external clients. 
  • Develop and utilise dashboards effectively.
  • Develop, analyse, and modify processes, data structures, and models.
  • Interact with clients to evaluate products and performance.
  • Always maintain objectivity to ensure processes and products are relevant.
  • Make data-driven decisions and recommendations.
  • Articulate and concisely explain the implications of complex data.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Reporter, Business Analyst, or similar role.
  • Experience in working with large data sets, including identification and correction of inconsistencies.
  • Experience working in the tech industry and being able to identify trends and anomalies to make appropriate recommendations.
  • Experience in working with USA/UK clients/companies in different time zones.
  • Management information reporting on the performance of products.
  • Experience creating BI reports using analytics tools – i.e., Power BI, Tableau, Quick Sight etc.
  • A degree in economics, business administration, engineering, or computer science with a focus on statistical analysis, database design and management, data mining or data architecture.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to understand processes, documents, and data.
  • Excellent analytical and statistical skills, who is a commercial and bold thinker.
  • Proven stakeholder management and excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Expertise in computer programming, data mining and data visualisation techniques.
  • Understanding of the various types of performance analysis such as SWOT, PESTLE and enterprise analysis.
  • An in-depth understanding of database design and management, including SQL and data modelling, would be an asset.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to handle difficult stakeholder and project conversations; interact with multiple levels of the organisation and functional disciplines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, work ethic and the ability to work well independently.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills are a must, including the ability to present information clearly, simply, and concisely.
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with statistical tools like Python or R is preferable.

Desirable/advantageous skills and experience:

  • Experience gained in pushing growth within a scale-up
  • Financial Services experience
