Business Intelligence Analyst 

 

The University of Tennessee Foundation (UTFI), Inc. is seeking an organized, self-starter Business Intelligence Analyst to join our advancement team. The BI Analyst provide reporting, analytical, and data management support to UTFI fundraising program and internal financial operations. Additionally, the analyst compiles, organizes, analyzes, and reports information related to fundraising KPIs, employee performance metrics, and internal operations for UTFI, campuses, colleges, departments, and the university as a whole. Employees at all levels of the university and foundation rely on this information to make strategic staffing, budget, and programmatic decisions. In addition, this information is used by the university’s Board of Trustees and the UT Foundation’s Board of Directors to assess program effectiveness and make strategic programmatic and resource management decisions. The development officer performance metrics are used directly by UT Foundation leadership to determine monetary awards and/or salary and organizational decisions, and the internal operations reports are used by the Assistant Vice President of Advancement Services to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of various units with his area of responsibility. Reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence, this position is a part of a team of four additional analysts who all assist in supporting UT Foundation.

Qualifications

 

Qualifications: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years in analytics, statistics, computer science, or related field. Candidate must also have 3 years of experience using SQL, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio, reporting tools such as Microsoft SSRS, and visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau. A working knowledge of the Sales Force CRM database is preferred. The ideal candidate will be highly supportive of and committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Job Skills: 

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical, quantitative, and computer skills and be highly proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly, Excel). They must also be a team player, analytics thinker, thorough, organized, process oriented, and be able to take initiative to solve problems and communicate effectively. Proficiency in R, SAS, Python, or other analytics/statistical programs is preferred.
