About the Job:
The Business Intelligence Analyst plays a pivotal role at Pacsun IT department, leveraging enterprise omni-channel and customer data to drive informed business decisions. Key responsibilities include data collection and analysis to uncover valuable insights, development and upkeep of BI dashboards and reports, identification of process optimization opportunities, collaboration with stakeholders to understand analytical needs, and provision of actionable recommendations based on data analysis. This position entails significant interaction with executives, stakeholders, and peers, demanding adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and clarity.
A day in the life, what you’ll be doing:
- Provide business process analysis support on company-wide projects. Collaborate with executives, business stakeholders, and end users to understand business objectives, metrics, and requirements.
- Completely understand omni-channel retail business and operations, anticipate data needs, pursue efficient communication, and facilitate solution-seeking processes between business and IT.
- Articulate business requirement needs to IT leadership, BI team, IT cross-functional teams, and vendors. Create and maintain documentation.
- Respond to trouble tickets and provide day-to-day support. Drive improved user productivity through developing and implementing new business processes and systems solutions. Assist end-users in identifying and obtaining information needs from business systems.
- Collect and analyze data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that will support business growth.
- Create and maintain data models, dashboards, visualizations, and reports to support data-driven decision-making.
- Create test plans and test scripts.
- Conduct data validation and quality checks, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Manage user training and create user training guides.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and optimization based on data insights.
- Research and respond to new initiatives and analytical needs.
- Be the change champion in AI Analytics, lead innovation, AI integration and co-create with AI technology providers.
What it takes to Join:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field.
- Experience using MicroStrategy.
- Programming Language experience including SQL, Python, Java, and Linux Shell Scripts.
- Database experience including Snowflake, Sql Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Understand IT project management, application development, implementation, testing.
- A minimum of two years of user experience with Retail, Inventory, Planning, Demand Forecast, Price Management, POS, eCommerce and Customer Data.
- Excellent analytic skills , with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent in creating clear, structured, and effective documentation.
- Ability to conduct meetings with business executives, partners and peers.
- Ability to be flexible to the rapidly changing needs of the department and company.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office products, including Visio, PowerPoint, and MS project. Advanced in Excel.

Salary Range: $73,424 – $82,898

- Hotel, Airplane, and Car Travel may be required.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. As a National Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume. This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
