Job Description

Have you ever ordered a product on Amazon and wondered how it got delivered to you so fast? In the Amazon EU Supply Chain team, we are passionate to drive innovation on behalf of our customers to improve product availability and speed while reducing costs and carbon emissions. This role will give you a unique view into Amazon systems, processes and operations, allowing you to collaborate with planning, operations and technical teams. If you are an advocate to understand complexity in detail to drive improvements at scale, with a proven track record of analyzing and diving deep in complex data to generate insights and business recommendations, we’d like to talk to you.

This position is ideally based out of our EU Headquarters in Luxembourg, however we will also consider Munich (Germany) as an option.

Key job responsibilities
– Design and own the right set of metrics to evaluate, dive deep and improve efficiency of placement systems.
– Develop relevant analytical tools/processes to reduce time to insights/automate.
– Recommend and drive improvements to the placement strategy using modelling and large datasets. You’ll guide partner teams with regards to the mix of products to place in Amazon buildings, maximizing selection and reducing distance to customers.
– Partner with technology teams to define key priorities to accommodate growing business needs and implement your recommendation in production through smart configurations in placement systems.
– Research, develop, document and present new opportunities to all levels of Supply Chain, Finance, FBA and Retail leadership.

A day in the life
– Partner with Program Managers, Business Intelligence Engineers and Finance Analysts to develop the right metrics and analytical tools to work backwards from a business goal.
– Partner with Business and Tech teams to prioritize impactful insights.
– Explore systems while performing anecdotes to understand concrete root causes.
– Scale findings from anecdotes to understand its impact and respective prioritization.
– Perform analysis at scale with new metric cuts and/or statistical models.

Basic Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
– Experience in the data/BI space
– Experience with SQL
– Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
– Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the business

Preferred Qualifications

– Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
– Master’s degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
