Department: Sales Operations – Business Intelligence Team

Position Type: Internship

Duration: Summer – 3 months

As a Business Intelligence Intern at Trimble, you will play a key role in leveraging advanced analytics and data-driven insights to enhance our Sales Operations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on impactful projects, collaborate with seasoned professionals, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our business intelligence processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Apply statistical techniques to analyze complex datasets and generate actionable insights.

  • Contribute to the development of reports and dashboards for effective communication of business intelligence.

Dashboard Development:

  • Work on the design and creation of dashboards using tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

  • Collaborate with the team to enhance existing dashboards and create new ones as needed. 

  • Build small to midsize business intelligence (BI) solutions – data sets, queries, reports, dashboards, analyses or components of larger solutions to answer business questions with data.

  • Write secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code with minimal defects, and automate manual processes where possible. Experience with SQL (CTEs, stored procedures), ETL tools (SSMS, Tableau, PowerBI) and at least one programming language (Python, R) is a must.

Data Management:

  • Assist in data cleansing, validation, and maintenance to ensure data accuracy.

  • Support the optimization and organization of databases for efficient data retrieval.

Collaborative Projects:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business challenges and develop data-driven solutions.

  • Participate in team discussions and contribute ideas for improving business intelligence processes.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in business intelligence.

  • Actively seek opportunities for skill development and knowledge enhancement in BI tools.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Intelligence, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, MIS or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., SQL, Python).

  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Domo).

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. 

Pay Equity

Trimble provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full time schedule. Trimble reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
