As a Business Intelligence Specialist, you will play a key role in the delivery of complex Standard and ad-hoc Business Intelligence solutions to various internal stakeholders and leadership teams.

We are now looking for a Business Intelligence Specialist in Bangalore, you will be responsible for driving the adoption of Business Intelligence dashboards, help build the user community, support efforts to create standardized reports and ensuring data quality.

  

Your role and responsibilities:

Primarily responsible for creation of standard and ad-hoc stakeholder Business Intelligence (“BI”) solutions (e.g., dashboards, visualizations, reports) including workshops, specifications, development, testing, documentation, and training. Contributes to the creation of BI standards and  best practices to be used by the team to complete projects.  Also is  for ensuring quality of  Business Intelligence solutions.

Furthermore, you will: 

 Specifies, develops, tests and documents Business Intelligence solutions within projects. These activities are executed within the boundaries of the project plan.
•    Work with stakeholders, capturing their requirements, working within best practices and standardized approach. Managing their expectations, providing timely feedback and updates.
•    Experience with crafting standard reports for corporate Finance function – including senior management and board reporting, and external-facing metrics and financial reports.
•    Prepares and gives training to end-users to promote self-service and access to required data for their use cases. Proactively keeps knowledge and skills up-to-date and acts as an expert in the field. Actively contributes to the Business Intelligence knowledge base, and is an asset to the development of Business Intelligence within Nasdaq
•    Actively work towards the project being delivered within the assigned timeline and budget.
•    Performs administrative tasks in a timely manner and ensures that information given is detailed and complete  .
•    Able to work Independently as well as collaboratively with colleagues.
•    Act as a coach and mentor to new hires and more junior members of the team.

We expect you to have :

·       Education Qualification:  Bachelors/Master in Computer Science, Masters in Business/Finance or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

·       Experience Required; 6-10 years

·       Special Qualifications, knowledge within:

a)      Developing complex BI dashboards with KPIs using PowerBI datasets and disparate sources based on stakeholder requirements.

b)      Expert knowledge in PowerBI ( DAX , PowerQuery ) and Excel

c)       Good knowledge of SQL and data models like star schema, snowflake schema etc.

d)      Some Experience in Data warehousing design concepts and implementation

e)      Some Experience with ETL tools for data cleansing and transformation

f)        Experience with Agile methodology

g)      Experience with JIRA or similar project management tool

h)      Excellent communication skills

Experience with training new users .

It would be great if you

  • Experience with traditional Databases, data warehouses and data Lakehouse is a plus
  • Some experience with Python and Machine Learning is a plus
  • Additional experience with Data Catalog/Governance tool is a plus
  • Some exposure to MDM tools is a plus
  • Additional experience with Alteryx is a plus
