Job Description
The Role
Working in the Operational Performance team, the Data Analyst will focus on using data to drive insights, enable informed decisions and support operational change initiatives across the wider EMEA team. The individual will be expected to carry out data discovery and engineering, handle data export/query requests and use data visualization tools and AI for analytics, insights and reporting purposes.
Core Responsibilities:
- Work with the Head of Operational Performance to enable data driven insights and informed decision making across all levels, leveraging both AI and traditional insights mechanisms.
- Handle data export/query requests from Operational Performance and across wider EMEA functional teams including applicable ETL processing and data modelling.
- Develop dashboards and reporting in line with business needs.
- Perform testing and validation to ensure that data is mapped correctly and represented accurately within Informa Markets’ data lake.
- Support data quality improvement activities to ensure that data from source systems is accurate, current, consistent, and fit for purpose.
- Support operational data migration activities from source systems, including analysis of source data, data mapping to target system and testing and data validation.
- Support data integration tasks and projects to influence customer-oriented outcomes, data analytics and other downstream activities.
- Support the development and update of data operating procedures and documentation, reflecting current policies and data standards.
- Work with multiple stakeholders to create quantitative and qualitative reports and interpretations of data using dashboards and other functionalities to the required frequency.
Qualifications
Skills required:
- Educated to undergraduate degree level or above
- 2+ years’ experience in a data related role, working with relational databases and querying languages.
- Proficient in the use of SQL
- 2 + years’ experience supporting data processes e.g. data validation and user performance testing activities.
- 2+ years’ experience with data visualization tools (Microsoft Power BI & DAX)
- 2 + years’ experience using Python language for data analysis & Machine Learning
- Experience with implementing AI and Machine learning for predictive, descriptive and prescriptive analytics.
- Strong attention to detail, complete with strong data gathering, problem solving and exceptional analytical skills.
- Experience with prioritization of tasks, within an SLA or deadline focused environment
- Experience of working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
- Ability to be flexible and deal with changing priorities and timelines/due dates pragmatically.
- Proficient in the creation of process and procedure documentation
- Proficient communicator, able to deal with varying stakeholder queries and can clearly communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical teams-with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office productivity tools (MS. Outlook, Excel, Word etc)
Desired Skills:
- Relevant industry knowledge from the events or any data related industry.
- Knowledge of data transformation and data validation and batch processing.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations e.g. GDPR, CASL etc.
- Knowledge and experience of web technologies e.g. HTML, XML, Json etc.
- Statistical analysis and data modelling.
- Experience with leveraging Generative AI for reporting and insights use cases.
