Job Description
Location: London, N1 9PT, including some Hybrid working
Contract Type: Full time, permanent
Working hours: 40 per week, between Monday to Friday
Salary: £40,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits
London Cycle Hire, or Santander Cycles, is the largest cycle hire scheme in the UK and regularly records over 1 million hires a month. The Scheme is available 24/7, 365 days a year. We operate more than 12,300 bikes, 500 eBikes (additional 1400 in 2024) and over 800 bike docking stations across London. We help Londoners get around quickly and easily in the most environmentally friendly way possible. The scheme recently expanded to Southwest London so now you can saddle up anywhere from Shepherds Bush to Canary Wharf and Wandsworth Town to Camden Town.
We are a data focused business, and as the Data Analyst you will be responsible for providing management reporting based upon the operational and scheme usage, with a focus on asset and inventory management that will be used to inform data led decision making for both internal and external stakeholders.
This role will see you lead in developing requested reports and dashboards (Power BI) in response to business requirements such as productivities for operatonal functions and management of bicycle spare parts, producing regular operational reports and contractual performance indicators for both our customers and internal stakeholders and create forecasting models drawing on scheme knowledge and through combining multiple datasets to create and provide regular reviews to validate and feedback to improve accuracy.
You will also deliver agreed regular Business Information that drives the organisation’s strategy and decision making to ensure development and delivery of the business plan, maintain and continue to develop efficient ways of developing reports and achieve improvements in efficiencies, support the Managers in working with customers (TfL and TfWM), particularly in the development of the regular reporting against agreed targets, support with front-line configuration of Asset Management Systems to aid the operation, lead on providing ad-hoc analysis using data from the Data Warehouse to support operational activities and perform quality control checks on all reports.
About You
First and foremost, you will be an experienced Data Analyst with strong knowledge of SQL and writing queries to extract data from relational databases and proven experience in challenging the status quo and suggesting new ways to improve performance and current working practices.
It is essential that you are advanced in the use of Excel, have experience of creating automated Power BI dashboards and reports and of using customer information management and Business Intelligence products in a business environment.
You should have strong analytical and interpretative skills, as well as strong planning, organisational, problem solving and investigation skills and be a good communicator at all levels.
