Requisition Summary

Peterbilt has an immediate need for a talented and self-motivated Data Analyst with the Peterbilt Advanced Analytics team. This team focuses on solving Peterbilt’s most important challenges using data and advanced analytics. The Advanced Analytics team works on a huge variety of projects; from predictive analytics models to support Operations, to prescriptive analytics to support Peterbilt sales efforts, and GenAI projects to support vehicle uptime. This team works on high-impact and high visibility projects.

 

Job Functions / Responsibilities

 

  • Extract, clean, merge, transform and compile data from various data sources, including relational databases, flat files, NoSQL databases and unstructured data using Python and SQL.
  • Create and implement dashboards and reports in Tableau to share metrics and insights.
  • Provide accurate, relevant, and meaningful analysis to management to support strategic and tactical decision-making.
  • Develop new process improvements to increase the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of our work.
  • Develop solutions to measure, improve, and monitor data quality based on business requirements.
  • Ensure product and technical features are delivered to spec and on-time.
  • Design and implement reporting and analytics features in collaboration with product owners, analysts, and business partners within an Agile/Scrum methodology using tools like Tableau.
  • Provide post-implementation production support.

 

Required Qualifications & Skills

 

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience in a data analytics position.
  • Significant experience with Business Intelligence solutions (Tableau) to create executive / summary level dashboards and reports.
  • Significant experience with, or deep understanding of, programming (Python, SQL).
  • Exposure to working with big data (Scala, Spark, Snowpark).
  • Experience with Informatica, Qlik, and Snowflake.
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent general business acumen, with the ability to communicate complex topics concisely and clearly.
  • Proven track record of participating in projects in a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter and self-directed learner with a creative mind, high attention to detail and a solution-oriented outlook.
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent general business acumen, with the ability to communicate complex topics concisely and clearly.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

 

  • 1+ years of experience with AWS and related services (e.g., EC2, S3, SNS, Lambda).
  • Proficient in dimensional modeling, ETL (including SSIS), reporting tools, data warehousing (Redshift & Snowflake), structured and unstructured data, relational databases (SQL Server & PostgreSQL), graph databases (Neo4J).
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment using Git Actions, Terraform, CloudFormation and AWS Code Pipeline.
  • Experience with shell scripting.
  • Experience with container deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).
  • Experience with the operationalization and maintenance of analytics APIs using, Flask, Streamlit, and similar.
  • Experience using GPT and large language models (LLMs).
  • Experience with Agile development methodology.

 

Education

 

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Analytics, or related field
