Job Description

Overview

The role is responsible for handling report preparation and generation, data analytics and data maintenance activities to internal and external stakeholders. This is a broad-ranging role, including understanding of the business requirements, data modelling, data profiling/analysis, design data solution (data flow), data mapping and data reconciliation and other support needs as required.

 

Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities

Strategic Focus

  • Plan, design, describe and present data solutions to support product growth and enhancement.
  • Consult with clients (new/potential) to discuss requirements and provide appropriate data solutions for product delivery.

Operational Management

  • Liaise with key Business Stakeholders to provide expertise, and to seek clarification on, Business Requirements. 
  • Investigate, gather and document requirements for enhancements to Systems. Ensure data mapping master documents are maintained and being accurate. 
  • Executing against the Data and Analytics roadmap, including optimisation of the existing capability as well as the introduction of new capabilities, when necessary. 
  • Execute complex analytical tasks that provide actionable results to business users
  • Accurate and regular time / task recording to ensure effort expended on tasks can be monitored and reported against.
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns relating to key performance indicators in complex data sets.
  • Investigate and consult on pragmatic alternatives for short, medium- and long-term solutions to a problem. 
  • Keep up to date with latest trends and best practices in data analytics and data visualisation tools

People Leadership

  • Co-ordinating operational initiatives to identify requirements with key stakeholders and implement accordingly

Governance & Risk

  • Produce & coordinate audit reporting tasks for applicable capabilities
  • Creating and maintaining documentation on processes, policies, application configuration and help related materials for users as applications are developed

Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Data Analytics and/or a Reporting role in an IT Operational environment
  • Worked in cross functional environments and able to achieve outcomes across matrixed reporting lines
  • Demonstrated understanding of the design, development of reports and dashboards.
  • Knowledge and skill sets associated with extracting, gathering and combining data for data analysis and data profiling activities
  • Strong skills and experience with SQL, Tableau, Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, SSIS/SSRS,and related analytics & reporting tools
  • Strong collaborative and co-ordination skillset, a real team player
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to drive operational and business transformations as needed
  • Ability to analyse large amount of data and provide feedback and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Strong data visualisation skills including the ability to deliver clear, targeted and impactful data visualizations and report user experience;
  • Experience in building innovative stories in BI tools to identify and communicate business insights to support effective decision-making
  • Strong data analysis and data interpretation skills with experience extracting and working with raw data
  • Experience in translating business requirements to technical/analytical specifications
  • Motivated/self-driven with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Expertise in analytics, data mining and creating data visualisations.
  • Understanding of predictive/analytical modelling techniques, theories, principle and practices
  • Both written and spoken skills of Chinese and English are required
