Job Description

Role purpose

This role will manage the Phenotype and Genotype data from Plant Breeding Research organization; enable data QC, analysis, and visualization. This person will work with breeding teams across APAC region to develop data interpretation and their applications to drive data driven decision making. He/she will use all the latest technologies to automate data analytics in collaboration with global team.

Accountabilities

  • Develop solutions for various Genetics, Phenotype, data processing, analysis, storage and querying problems in Crop R&D set up
  • Work with global Genetics/Data Analytics and Decision/IT teams execute and implement novel analytics solutions in APAC countries
  • Work in diverse, cross-collaborative teams with Plant breeders, Trialing & Nursery operations, Trait Development, and IT

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in plant breeding and Genetics or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated expertise with tools for data analysis, statistical computation, and visualization
  • Proficient in python / R
  • Experience in machine learning algorithms and build visualization capabilities of analysis, outputs and results
  • Experience working with molecular marker-based studies applied to plant breeding, such as marker-assisted selection, genome-wide phenotype-to-genotype association, and genomic selection
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, collaborative environment
  • Creative, innovative, and strategic thinking; willingness to be bold and take risks on novel ideas
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
