Job Description
As a Data Analyst II with OMES you will enjoy:

Job Details
- Full-time 40-hour work weeks.
- Support the Data Services Team with the Information Services Division.
Responsibilities
- Gather business requirements from stakeholders and prioritize data products for development.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage data to create value, deliver insights, and prioritize effort, especially through quantitative measures, visualizations, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Design and support reports, dashboards, data models and data applications on State approved platforms.
- Review existing reports, dashboards, and data applications for accuracy and efficacy.
- Possess skills and knowledge of the elements of the modern data stack and the State Data Strategy, including:
- Data QC/QA
- Business Intelligence Platforms
- Data Visualizations
- Exploratory Data Analysis
- Cloud Platforms
- Data Governance & Management
- Relational Database Management
- Data Modeling
- Common Data Architectures
- Master Data Management
- State Data Platform
- AI/ML
- Learn and develop subject matter expertise alongside our partners.
- Collaborate with agency partners to build and maintain metadata, data catalog entries, and data dictionaries.
- Communicate with both technical and non-technical teams on a wide variety of topics.
- Mentor teammates on technical and data issues and provide technical consulting to our agency partners.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position works in a comfortable office setting for a large percentage of the workday. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. Occasional travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4 years of experience in an Information Technology field or Data Management, or a two-year degree or certification in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Management, STEM, or a related field.
- Experience developing metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and visualizations.
- Experience providing excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.
- Experience with cloud data environments, data marts, and business intelligence platforms, including PowerBI, Looker, and Looker Studio Pro.
- Experience with alerts, monitoring for datasets, reports, and dashboards.
- Strong technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
- Experience in delivering end-to-end data solutions and training others on data analytics.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess
- Knowledge of any data storage systems and techniques
- Knowledge of any data transformation systems and techniques
- Ability to produce accurate, timely, and high-quality products to a customer
- Ability to analyze business requirements and design data solutions
