Job Description

PSECU, a high-tech progressive financial institution with more than $8 billion in assets, is seeking a Data Analyst Intern will report directly to the Business Intelligence Manager and is responsible for creating standard or ad hoc queries or reports to extract data from disparate databases or data sources. The Data Analyst Intern analyzes data to produce dashboards, metrics, or insights and identify trends or anomalies. Additionally, this role may support advanced analytics initiatives including data mining, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling efforts.

 

Employee Type: Part-Time, Non-exempt 

Schedule: Monday-Friday – 8:00am-4:00pm during the summer, flexible schedule during school year, 20% onsite at our office located in Harrisburg, PA. 

Training:  Will be a mix of in office/at home, approximately 15-30 hours

Salary:  Up to $20.00/hr. (commensurate with experience)

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES – Essential for this position:

  • Analyze data and build models that are used by the business or organization to support decision making.
  • Use detailed specifications from which reports and dashboards will be written. Reports will be designed, coded, tested, debugged, documented and maintained using business intelligence standards.
  • Under general supervision, review the integrity, accuracy, and security of the Business Intelligence reports and data.
  • Participate with other specialists to convert legacy reports to the Credit Unions BI solution.
  • Familiar with modern business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau, Looker
  • Provide support to ensure the availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards for Credit Union users.
  • Provide training and assistance to users for generation of ad-hoc reports.
  • Works with technical staff to understand problems with BI reports and resolves them.
  • Ability to analyze BI reports and respond with suggestions for improvements and enhancements.

 

MINIMUM / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: 

Minimum Experience:

Upcoming Junior or Senior studying Data Analytics/Science, Applied Mathematics, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.

Or any equivalent combination of experience and education.

Preferred Experience:

Experience performing statistical analysis and/or creating predictive models.

Experience using R or Python
