Job Description

The Data Analyst will support the delivery of a high-quality reporting and data insights programme regarding the Group Legal Function’s external spend, the Business’s Legal Support requirements and the Group Compliance Monitoring and Assurance programme. This is a Group role supporting the Legal & Compliance teams in all Markets (UK& I, Italy, Germany, Austria & Switzerland).

This role will collaborate with colleagues across the department and with external stakeholders on various data projects and initiatives, collecting data and making measurable recommendations at all levels. This role will also provide support for various other Legal Department initiatives from time to time (subject to existing priorities).

The successful candidate will be a team-player, have excellent data analysis skills and be a confident communicator, able to combine analytical insight with storytelling.

What you’ll do:

  • Delivery of weekly financial reporting using our e-billing platform and Power BI (or similar data visualisation software) to Legal Leadership.
  • Support the implementation of our external spend monitoring programme (incl. data capture for budget and reforecasting processes and law firm management programme).
  • Support the implementation and ongoing delivery of Sky’s Legal Operations Reporting Programme (including creation of dashboards) and all other data related reporting requests, using front end data visualizations that succinctly summarise outputs and insights.
  • Monitor and reconcile data any data integrity issues.
  • Maintenance of databases and Dashboards.
  • Support the update and roll-out of Sky Legal’s Matter Management system to other markets as required. This will include scoping data capture requirements, designing matter journeys and ensuring teams and matters are set up optimally to enable useful and insightful data reporting.
  • Support Group Compliance with the maturity of their Monitoring and Assurance programme, including reporting of key policy and process data, reconciliation of data, implementation of exec level dashboards, BAU analysis (e.g. gifts & hospitality.).

What you’ll bring:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and o365 tools. (Outlook, Word, Sharepoint, Powerpoint, MS Forms and Excel).
  • Advanced proficiency in using data visualisation tools such as Tableau and MS Power BI
  • SQL- Proficient with data retrieval techniques (writing SQL queries, APIs etc.).
  • Strong ability to explore and analyse data sets with tools and other data visualisation systems, visualise data insights and communicate findings.
  • Experienced modelling structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience in designing and engineering metrics/KPIS/scorecards/dashboards.
  • High attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
