Data Analytics – Analyst
Job Description
Treasury & Securities Services (TSS) generates more than $8 billion in revenue annually and is a global leader in custody, securities lending, fund accounting and administration, as well as in treasury services. TSS supports the needs of institutional clients worldwide and is one of the top three providers in both of its businesses: Treasury Services (TS) and Worldwide Securities Services (WSS).
This team is responsible driving the Innovation and Transformation agenda for Nostro Reconciliation. This involves understanding and documenting end to end Data flow and performing Gap Analysis. The team should be responsible for implementing the firm wide data initiatives across RU. The team also works on advance statistical analysis using ROU data which may often involves using Statistical learning techniques. A major deliverable of the team is the Target Architecture of RU eco system.
Job Responsibilities
- Gather information from various sources to capture current status – identify and interpret patterns and trends, assess data quality and eliminate irrelevant data. Deep dive on analysis of data across different business units that would represent all the different representations of the data
- Identification of discrepancies around data, recommend solutions to standardize
- Identify and structure data sources, create relationships with existing data sources and develop best in class methods for data management
- Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that supports the standard data integrity for all processes
- Communicate results of the analysis through a comprehensive report which would present statistics about the data, lists, visuals
- Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs, locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- Lead automation initiatives and work closely with Operations teams to accomplish identified automation opportunities
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
- Proven working experience as a Data and Business analyst for 4-6 years
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques, data visualization.
- Understanding of End to End process flow and data flows and how to document requirements for automation. Knowledge of and experience with databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML or ETL frameworks)
- BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, Alteryx, etc.) is an added plus. Good to have knowledge on statistical language like R.
- Experience on working with RPA tools like UI Path will be added advantage
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to plan work and meet deadlines
- Detailed understanding of Financial Markets and Financial Instruments will be a must
- A clear communicator, who is able to write report and present complex findings in a simple way
- Comfortable in a thought leadership role – you should have your own opinions and be comfortable expressing them
- Ability to effectively prioritize workload and work to critical deadlines
