An exciting and rewarding opportunity is now available for a Data and Performance Manager to join our Consumer Brands team. This pivotal role is designed for a dynamic leader who is passionate about leveraging data to enhance customer experiences and drive business performance. 

 

As the Data and Performance Manager, you’ll lead a team of data engineers and analysts dedicated to delivering insightful, data-driven solutions. Your expertise will be pivotal in optimizing our data acquisition processes and implementing advanced analytics, machine learning, and automation to boost operational efficiency. 

 

In this role, you’ll manage and mentor a diverse group, cultivating a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Your leadership will be essential in guiding the team to create robust data products that meet quality and governance standards. Additionally, you’ll oversee the transition of legacy data products to modern, cloud-based solutions, ensuring they are both scalable and secure. Enhancing existing data capabilities and adopting innovative technologies will be key components of your strategy. 

 

Collaboration with key stakeholders to understand their data needs will be crucial, as you’ll effectively communicate delivery plans and manage expectations to align with delivering to business outcomes. 

 

Your ability to combine technical expertise with strong leadership will empower your team to achieve exceptional results and contribute significantly to the organization’s success. 

 

We seek a candidate who is not only a technical expert in data but also possesses a genuine passion for team leadership. This unique blend of technical proficiency and leadership skills is vital for driving the success of our data initiatives. 

 

This is a permanent full-time position with hybrid working conditions, available at any of our IAG offices across Aotearoa – New Zealand, with a preference for those located in Tāmaki Makaurau  

Auckland.​ 

 

Ōu Pūkenga | About You 

 

We’re excited to engage with skilled professionals who possess the following expertise and experience: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Statistics, Data Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or another technical discipline. 
  • Proven ability to utilize data modelling to address complex business challenges. 
  • Familiarity with essential data technologies, including SQL, Python, R, Google BigQuery, and DBT. 
  • Strong skills in planning, people management, and team development. 
  • Exceptional stakeholder management abilities. 
  • Experience in deploying analytics data products/models is a plus. 
  • Valued for creative problem-solving skills paired with a curious mindset. 
  • Experience in people management.
