Data Architect 2 – HQRI Forecasting & Analysis
Job Description
The Data Architect 2 works in all data environments which includes data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation. The Data Architect 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
Location: remote
Healthcare Quality and Reporting Improvement (HQRI) Finance is looking for a Data Architect 2 to translate business needs into long-term data architecture solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing new metadata schemes, customizing data backup and data migration routines, and ongoing database development to support HQRI’s forecasting models which provide critical insights for the enterprise. Over the course of your projects, you will need to learn and understand the broader business and modeling context in order to collaborate on cross-functional teams, communicate the capabilities and limitations of our data architecture, and provide data-driven insights.
The HQRI Finance team supports Humana’s Healthcare Quality Reporting and Improvement business area, part of the Medicare and Medicaid business. With over 9 million medical members and $67B in ’20 revenue, Medicare and Medicaid are Humana’s largest business segments, comprising over 80% of the company’s total revenue and the majority of its earnings. The Finance team develops revenue and risk score projections for bids and budgets, evaluates changes in Medicare and Medicaid regulations and payment models, monitors and reports on risk adjustment data submissions, and supports HQRI operations.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- 3 years or more of experience designing data solutions
- SQL database design
- SQL query tuning
- General knowledge of Python or other high-level, general purpose language
- Working knowledge of Git or similar version control system
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent technical communication
Desired Qualifications
- Python for scripting and file/data automation tasks, familiarity with SQLAlchemy and Pandas
- Redgate SQL tools
- Familiarity with risk adjustment concepts
- Familiarity with Medicare Advantage reimbursement
