Description:

The Data Architect is responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant data storage regulations and the development of data architecture standards and aligning them with global standards.

Collaboration with Product Owners, OpCo leadership, and Product Architects is essential, as the Data Architect advises on external perspectives and innovations related to data architecture.

Activities:

  • Develop and maintain the data architecture roadmaps, making sure that they are in line with the global architecture strategy.
  • Understand business requirements and translate them into data models, data warehouse schemas, and data stream architectures based on FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principals.
  • Ensure implementation of data architecture standards for data collection, maintenance, storage, and organization and align these with the global standards.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations regarding data storage.
  • Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
  • Ensure together with product architects that there are robust roadmaps to reach the defined future state in line with frameworks and principles.
  • Stay on top of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data platforms and architecture, and proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Requirements:

Education: bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, systems design, computer sciences, or a related field

Experience: 5+ years of experience with IT architecture and/or data management

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with delivering thought leadership and crafting high level strategy on data structure and architecture.
  • Data modeling Tools: ERWin, Visio
  • SQL knowledge
  • Knowledge of data architecture principles and data design principles (eg. Medallion architecture)
  • Proven experience with architecture frameworks and concepts (e.g. ETL management, cloud stacks, etc.)
  • Analytically and quantitatively strong and highly structured
  • Ability to explain complex technical processes to business stakeholders.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment.
