Job Description

Seeking a passionate data professional interested in leading the data design for an application, solution, or business domain, helping to define how data will flow, be stored and structured to enable new business insights. Collaborates with business partners and subject matter experts to elicit and understand data requirements and relevant principles and standards. Contributes to the creation of architectural principles, standards and best practices as well as database selection and design. Translates data requirements into application, solution and subject area data models and validates these using data profiling methods. Understands and documents the data flow between applications and recommends optimal data flow and storage patterns. Creates and enhances the business glossary, data dictionary and related metadata.

Job Qualifications

  • English proficiency and at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer / Systems / Industrial Engineering, Business / Management Information Systems or Software Development

  • Strong problem solving skills and self-starter

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with stakeholders, gather requirements, and present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Collaboration skills to work effectively as part of a team and engage with cross-functional teams

  • Foundational knowledge in Data Analysis, Business Analytics, Systems Development and Integration and/or Data Architecture

  • SQL or similar query language experience

  • Database and data warehouse experience

  • Data engineering experience designing and developing ETL dataflows

  • Data modeling, mapping and profiling experience

  • Willingness to learn and stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and industry best practices related to data management and architecture. The ability to adapt to evolving requirements and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Office tools (Powerpoint, Excel)

Nice to have

  • Data Lake experience

  • Data modeling tools (ex. Erwin, ER Studio).

  • Experience with NoSQL database technologies and Cloud technologies.

  • Experience developing in a cloud / micro-service based environment with languages such as Python.

  • Financial management and budgeting

  • Project management, SCRUM, Agile

  • Vendor management – ability to create and oversee a plan and deliverables
