Job Summary
Tetra Laval is a privately held multinational corporation with headquarters in Pully, Switzerland, providing innovative systems that improve the efficiency, quality and safety of food production, processing, and packaging. Tetra Laval International (TLI) is responsible for the central corporate functions for the group, such as Treasury, Corporate Finance, Reporting, Risk management, Customer Finance & Tax. TLI has staff based in Switzerland, the UK, the Netherlands, and Singapore.
Our Strategy
We are embarking on a major transformation to become more data-driven, and we are looking for an enthusiastic individual with 2-3 years industry experience as a Data Engineer to help drive that change. This opportunity will embed you directly with decision-makers and an experienced team of data scientists.
What you will do
- Apply your skills and expertise in data engineering to build a robust and reliable data platform that collects, transforms, and organises data from multiple internal and external data sources for consumption by data scientists and business analysts.
- You will work with large internal operational datasets and combine these with external data sets to build data models that generate insights for our data driven business use cases.
- You will be a strong advocate for best practices in the design and implementation of our data management platform.
- You will work with in an agile cross functional team and collaborate with data scientists, business domain experts and project stakeholders.
We believe you have
- Experience in building and maintaining data platforms with on premise and cloud-based architectures.
- Experience in the Microsoft Azure technology stack including Synapse, Azure SQL, Purview, Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake Store Gen2, Log Analytics.
- Experience with on premise Microsoft SQL stack including SSMS, SSIS and SQL Server.
- Experience using PySpark and Python for building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines from various data formats.
- Experience in Data Warehouse, Data Lake design and implementation including entity relationship modelling, dimensional modelling, star schemas and multidimensional cubes.
- Experience in the design and implementation of data quality tools, data lineage and data catalogues.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases and knows when to use these over relational databases.
- Proficient in the use of T-SQL, Stored Procedures and SQL query performance tuning. Experience building analytics dashboards using Power BI.
- Experience in using software versioning tools and in the best practice usage of these including familiarity with setting up and using CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of extracting data from SAP ECC, SAP Hana and SAP BW advantageous.
- Experienced in good software design incl. design patterns, unit testing, code reviews.
- Solid understanding of data science concepts, and experience working with data scientists.
- Familiarity with agile working practices advantageous.
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science or related fields.
- Work on their own initiative, manage time effectively and work accurately and quickly under pressure.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Proactive attitude to learning and self-development.
