Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As a Data Engineer, your role revolves around constructing resilient and scalable data solutions that metamorphose and showcase data products via interfaces/APIs, the data warehouse, and analytical stores. Leveraging your wealth of knowledge and expertise, you’ll craft data solutions meticulously aligned with our overarching data strategy and the roadmap for the data domain. 

Your approach will be grounded in applying robust software engineering practices to fashion high-quality data products. These products will not only be secure and reusable but also scalable, perfectly synchronized with the broader domain/product/feature roadmap. Embracing the power of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), you’ll be at the forefront of developing top-notch, scalable Data Platforms, in alignment with the strategic objectives of the domain/product/feature roadmap.
Moreover, your influence will extend to championing the adoption of DevOps principles within the domain/product/feature team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency. Your endeavors will not only contribute to the technical excellence of our data solutions but also play a crucial role in advancing IAG’s overarching goals.

This position is permanent, and you can be based in Australia or New Zealand.  

 

Ōu Pūkenga | About You

 

•    Bring your expertise to the table with a proven track record in SQL development and data modelling, demonstrating your ability to shape and optimize data structures.
•    Programming skills in Python & building APIs.
•    Experience in using git for code versioning.
•    Ability to navigate the cloud landscape with confidence, boasting experience and proficiency in public cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform. 
•    Experience in DBT, showcasing your hands-on experience or completion of a course in DBT Fundamentals, adding a layer of depth to your data proficiency.
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
•    your solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and end-to-end code development on display, proving your ability to orchestrate seamless data journeys.
•    Proactive and can-do attitude, self-motivated, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
•    Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders and ensuring that desired outcomes are met.
