Role Summary

The Vistair Intelligence development team is looking for a data engineer to drive insights delivery across our Safety Management and Document Management product suite.
We have an exciting new product generating lots of attention in the aviation industry, with excellent opportunities for career progression. We’re a new dynamic team looking for someone who can make an impact.

Responsibilities

    • – Setting up and maintaining data pipelines, using Meltano/DBT and Snowflake
    • – Supporting the development of new data products
    • – Gathering requirements from customers
    • – Designing new data models
    • – Producing ad-hoc queries and developing reports to support business needs
    • – Consult with users on their BI data models, ensuring they are fit for purpose
    • – Providing technical support to existing clients and systems
    • – Ensuring all database systems meet business and performance requirements, following Agile development practices throughout
    • – Help maintain an organised and targeted task backlog
    • – Creating and maintaining documentation

Essential Skills

  • – Experience of work with DBT
  • – Proven work experience as a database developer
  • – Excellent analytical and organisational skills
  • – Strong teamwork and cross-teamwork ethic
  • – Problem-solving attitude
  • – Extreme ownership of problems

Technical Skills

  • – Transforming raw data into DBT models
  • – Ability to create clear database structures using best practices
  • – Experience writing optimal SQL queries
  • – Knowledge of data testing/data lineage
  • – Experience with database management systems
  • – Experience with NoSQL databases and other data sources

Desirable Skills

  • – An understanding of the Machine Learning Model lifecycle
  • – Data extraction using Python

Due to the sensitivity of data handled in some of our projects, it is advantageous that you are UK SC Cleared or can attain it.
