Job Description

Job Summary:    

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the data infrastructure and systems that support the organization’s data-driven initiatives. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines to extract, transform, and load large volumes of data from various sources. 
  • Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure data pipeline requirements are met. 
  • Design and implement efficient data models and database schemas to support data storage, retrieval, and analysis. 
  • Optimize database performance and query execution. 
  • Develop and implement data transformation processes to cleanse, normalize, and aggregate data for analytics and reporting purposes. 
  • Apply data validation and quality checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data. 
  • Design and maintain data warehouse architecture and infrastructure to support the storage and retrieval of large volumes of structured and unstructured data. 
  • Monitor data pipelines, database performance, and system health to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Proven experience (typically 2-3 years) as a Data Engineer, Big Data Engineer, or a similar role, preferably in the fintech industry or a financial institution. 
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or Java 
  • Experience with data warehouse solutions such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or similar platforms. 
  • Proficiency in SQL and database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL databases). 
  • Familiarity with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Hive, HBase, or similar frameworks. 
  • Knowledge of data modeling principles and database design. 
  • Understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance standards in the fintech industry. 
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
