Role – Data Engineer

We are already providing IT services and support to Alfa Laval companies around the world, and we are now expanding our operations to meet future demands.

Alfa Laval has invested in a ‘Global IT Delivery Centre’ in Pune with the vision to expand and deliver IT services as an extension to our global teams located in Sweden, Denmark, Poland and the USA. We focus on cost-effective solutions and improved performance to create a unique Alfa Laval experience!

Who are we looking for

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our Data, Analytics & Corporate Function team, which drives data management, analytics, and reporting solutions across entire organization. As part of our mission, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines that support our business intelligence and advanced analytics needs.

You will work closely with a multi-national team of developers, architects, and product owners to maintain and extend our data platform. We offer opportunities for continuous learning and development in the latest data technologies and trends.

Who are You

You are passionate about data and solving complex problems. You have experience working in both on-premise and cloud environments, and you’re comfortable with Microsoft technologies and data services in Azure. You have strong analytical skills and an ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements and Responsibilities

What we need:

Key Requirements:

  • Experience with MS SQL Server, both on-premise and in Azure
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, including query performance tuning and optimization
  • Experience with SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) and/or AAS (Azure Analysis Services)
  • Experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) and Power BI for data visualization
  • Experience with Azure data services like Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, and related technologies
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data pipeline development
  • Understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and architecture

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize scalable data pipelines and workflows, using both on-premise and cloud-based services
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver appropriate solutions
  • Maintain and improve existing solutions using SQL, SSAS, AAS, SSRS, and Power BI
  • Leverage Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and other Azure services to manage and orchestrate data processing workflows
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across the platform
  • Continuously monitor and optimize data solutions for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members on data engineering best practices

What we will be training you on:

  • Deep dive into the latest Azure services relevant to data engineering (e.g., Azure Synapse)
  • Advanced features of Databricks for big data processing
  • Power BI advanced reporting and optimization techniques
  • Automation and CI/CD pipelines for data engineering projects
  • Governance, compliance, and security best practices for data management in Azure

Work Location; Pune

Working time; CET/CEST Shift – 11:30 AM to 08:30 PM

Working Days; 5 days a week (3days WFO, 2 days WFH)
