Job Description

Data Engineering Platform Lead

Salary – £40,000 – £55,000

This is a great job for someone who thrives on leading data engineering initiatives and has a strong technical background! We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Customer Data Platforms team.

In this role, you’ll take charge of designing, implementing, and managing our Customer Data Platforms to support our organisation’s data-driven objectives. If you’re passionate about driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and maximising the potential of data, apply now to become an integral part of our team!

A bit about the job:

This role resides in the newly created Single View of Customer (SVOC) platform team, which supports the distribution of unified customer data, for use within analytics, data science, servicing, marketing and operations. The platform team is going to be split into 2 feature teams to develop operational and analytical use cases, and the operations lead role will be supporting both.

The successful candidate will become the right-hand person of the platform manager, looking after key aspects of day-to-day platform management. The role involves working with business teams, including project and program managers and product owners to oversee, prioritise and resource the book of change work coming into the platform.

The role also interfaces with the central run and operations team to ensure stable service delivery to our customers. In this role, you will be required to work closely with the operations lead to ensure that all relevant engagement and resourcing processes are followed, and with the delivery teams to ensure agreed deliverables are kept on track and blockages and issues are resolved.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Proficiency in change delivery, ensuring smooth transitions and effective implementation of data engineering solutions within the organisation

  • Demonstrated strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines and objectives

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex technical concepts clearly and effectively

  • Proven ability in stakeholder management and influencing skills, adept at building relationships and garnering support for data engineering initiatives across different departments and levels of the organisation
