Job Description

The Reference Data Business Analyst will play an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap of the company’s reference data strategy and processes. 

The Reference Data Business Analyst  will partner with the technology teams and multiple businesses across the firm to analyze various use cases and recommend enterprise business solutions that align with the Reference Data Strategy and industry best practices. This role will contribute to laying the foundation of the future state reference data platforms capabilities across the firm. 

As a Data Management Associate in the Ref data product team drive adoption of product and services to advance “Reference Data as a Service” strategy. Responsible for end to end product management and delivery including but not limited to Engaging  with business stakeholders to understand required functional capabilities and define the product backlog, create actionable user stories, prioritize stories based on epics, manage product backlog, and ensure development focuses on JIRAs with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy. Contribute and Drive the solution architecture and modeling of functional business services architecture in partnership with Product and technology teams. Ability to own and drive the Book of work delivery independently, manage communication channels and Stakeholder engagement to support business adoption.

Job Summary :

As a Data Management Associate in the Reference Data Product team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the company’s reference data strategy and processes. You will collaborate with technology teams and various businesses across the firm to analyze use cases and recommend business solutions that align with the Reference Data Strategy and industry best practices. Your contributions will lay the foundation for the future state of reference data platforms capabilities across the firm.

Job  Responsibilities:

  1. Engage with business stakeholders to understand required functional capabilities, integrating business knowledge and business needs with the reference data capabilities
  2. Introduces and accelerates new functional services and methodologies to support “Reference Data as a Service” strategy
  3. Leads the design and modeling of functional business services architectures  and determine the most appropriate technical strategy and architecture designs in partnership with technical teams to enable for delivery of projects
  4. Partners with technical solution architects to provide scalable and adaptable business solutions
  5. Function as a Stakeholder-facing Product Owner who can synthesize the requirements, drive the analysis with appropriate questions supported by workflow documents, scenario analysis and wireframes (as needed).
  6. Defines the product backlog, create actionable user stories, prioritize stories based on epics, manage product backlog, and ensure development focuses on JIRAs with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
  7. Assess the value of JIRAs per Sprint and develop Use-Cases Documents, Wireframes and provide Sample data sheets on JIRAs on case by case basis.
  8. Develop roadmaps to enable business deliverables; Develop, track, analyze, and publish reports, project summaries, scorecards and program/project performance trends
  9. Partners with technology to design and implement reference data solutions that support the firm wide reference data strategy as well as specific business unit requirements
  10. Acts as product manager for Proof-of-Concept projects to validate new functional capabilities and services
  11. Support multiple teams with planning, scoping and creation of functional requirements for the new product capabilities, including testing through to continuous delivery to production

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Ability to “think big” and challenge conventional wisdom regarding business architecture space
  • Proven history of generating innovative and effective solutions
  • Hands-on end-to-end Agile experience for a minimum of one year
  • Ability to drive business culture change in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong consultative skills at a cross-functional level
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus among many stakeholders
  • Knowledge of architectural design frameworks, integration frameworks, and patterns
  • Experience building strategic business solutions plans and roadmaps
  • Demonstrated experience with business process and performance modeling, benchmarking, and financial analysis

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills :

  • Ability to Independently lead and drive initiatives to completion and manage risks/issues
  • Demonstrated strong business Product Owner experience

  • Ability to understand the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term perspectives of situations and how they relate to achieving targeted business outcomes
  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of solutions alternatives
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science preferred. In lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, an equivalent amount of experience will be considered.
