Job Description
Job Summary:
The CCB Data Risk Management Team within the Chief Data Office (CDO) chairs the Data Management Council, the highest ranking council for review and escalation of Data Risk within CCB. With data increasingly taking center stage in all aspects of Chase business functions, this role is a unique opportunity to have meaningful impact on a large scale at a leading financial services firm. Our team works cross functionally with data leaders from every Product within Chase, members of our Risk and Control organizations, as well as Technology partners to ensure proper management of data risk at the firm.
The position offers an opportunity to jump start a risk management career while getting well rounded exposure to all areas of Chase’s businesses by addressing the broad, and ever-changing range of data management challenges faced by the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and refresh critical risk reporting data sets & information
- Source, review, and publish the IT Weakness/Severity matrix data set, reporting applications that are non-compliant with Data related IT Control Procedures
- Source, review, and publish the CDO Issue/Action plan data set, tracking Issue and Action plan milestones that are not compliant with firm expectations.
- Source, review, and publish the CORE Trigger Tracker breaks, reporting Key Risk Indicators from CORE that are in non-compliance status
- Source, review, and publish Request for Information (RFI) data set, tracking audit questions, responses, and outcomes to generate forward looking analytics.
- Support the review of the Firmwide Data Risk Metrics
- Become a trusted advisor and subject matter expert related to the Firmwide Data Risk Metrics and reporting process among the CDO team.
- Source, review, and identify for escalation the appropriate data risk metrics in accordance with the defined escalation criteria.
- Curate and maintain an inventory of CCB specific data risk metrics that can be used to update/challenge existing Data Risk metrics during annual review periods.
- Support the execution of the monthly CCB Data Management Council
- Become a trusted advisor and subject matter expert related to the Data Risk Policy – Firmwide, Data Risk Management Standard – Firmwide, and CCB supplemental documentation.
- Partner with Data Risk teams to produce standing risk management content timely for inclusion in the Data Management Council (DMC) materials, including:
- Procedure Approval material
- Data Risk Team Overview material
- Data Owner Risk Overview material
- Standard Exception request material
- Attend the monthly DMC and document meeting minutes and key action items and decisions.
Required Skill, Qualifications and Capabilities:
2+ years experience in a Data Analytics, Data Governance, or Data Management role with 7+ years of total experience, preferably in the Financial Services industry
Strong verbal and written communications
Be strategic and hands on
Strong Project management skills
- Ability to operate in fast paced, detail orientated organization
- Excellent communicator able to convey complex information in an understandable, compelling, and persuasive manner to senior executives
- Influencer with great interpersonal skills that can achieve alignment across a range of different views and interests without formal authority
- Strong aptitude for learning new technical concepts and frameworks
- Experience working with, developing new, or modifying existing Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to effectively identify risk within an organization
- Experience across broad range of data visualization & business intelligence technologies (i.e. Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, Python)
- Educational or on-the-job experience in technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Management)
