Job Description
As a Data Manger you will have full end-to-end accountability for the management of a nominated set of Experian’s data assets throughout their Data Lifecycle. A Data Manager at Experian is an authority (subject matter expert) on many topics associated to those defined assets (regulatory, legal, commercial, sourcing, processing, storing, quality, monetising) and is an evangelist for the education and encouragement of world class Data Management within the organisation.
The role holder will manage some of our most critical data assets across our Property & Risk data. Key responsibilities will include:
– managing your nominated portfolio of assets, ensuring we have good oversight of both the use and costs for the data
– supporting the Experian business to monetise the data, ensuring we maximise opportunities and challenge our internal stakeholders (e.g. Product), whilst ensuring we remain compliant with contractual terms and any applicable regulation(s)
– identifying opportunities to innovate using the data, this includes looking at new/alternate uses of data to support our customers and the business
– capture & present metrics that demonstrate the performance of your data assets, ensuring issues/risk are identified and raised to senior management in a timely manner
– manage risks & issues relating to your data assets, in accordance with our Risk Management framework.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with data that feeds into either risk models for the insurance industry or geospatial data for mapping would be an advantage
- Practical experience of undertaking data analysis and presenting back your findings
- Ability to manage own time effectively, to deliver tangible business benefit
