About the Role

The job holder will be responsible to drive for the overall Data Operation platform and continue to expand the roadmap for advance data services implementation with digital application.

The right person for this role will be solutions oriented, has experience in managing near real time data application. He will lead a sizable teams, proactively identifies opportunities to adopt ODS into the digital platform. This role will support various application team for the data requirement via ODS (Operational Data Store) for all digital applications. This individual will be a hands-on thought leader – capable of both high-level strategic thinking as well as hands on ability to execute.

Job Responsibilities:

Functional Duties

  • Define and deliver ODS solutions that meet the needs and expectations of the stakeholders and users, across the AIAHK.
  • Partner with architecture team, application teams and data analytics platform team to streamline overall data architecture, tech stack, and internal framework to support a central operational data function.
  • Utilize advanced business analysis capability to decipher complex data sets, transforming them into actionable requirements and manage the implementation till production.
  • Design data integrated solutions together with API Team to deliver solution for various business functions.
  • Lead to implement multiple projects (small and large) together with various data domain, using Azure tools, and manage the scope, budget, schedule, quality, and risks of the projects, and ensure alignment with the business objectives and vision.
  • Promote data & API re-use and cross business function awareness of best practices, challenges, etc..
  • Guarantee the availability, quality and reliability of data & ODS platform throughout it’s lifecycle.
  • Develop strong data documentation about Business requirements, parameters as well as operational support models.
  • Monitor ODS Performance, system usage and setup operational SOP for the Team.
  • Partner with other analysts, developers, testers, and SME and provide Optimisation and feedback to improve ODS performance and capability.
  • Regularly review New requirement request and calibrate team resource and capability to ensure project deliver on-time.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, goal setting and overall performance management to our costly related working partner and teams members. 

People Management Duties

  • Direct activities of a team of business analysis, data engineer and developer, and project team members.
  • Identify, mentor and develop potential data engineer.
  • Implement staff management activities to align with company directive.

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in relevant fields (Computer Science, engineering, mathematics, statistics or related discipline)
  • Min 7 years of relevant experience. Less experience will be considered as Consultant (Manager Level).
  • Experience to help organization to more quickly and reliably deliver data and insights to users by enabling faster and more efficient through API / Data pipeline.
  • Knowledge of programming languages like SQL with Store Procedure, Python, Databricks with Unity Catalog and APIM.
  • Experience with big data open source solutions such as Spark will be an advantage
  • Demonstrated skill, comfort, and success in leading teams to run Data Operations and deliver data projects.
  • A track record of using various strategy to drive operation team’s discipline and improve resilience / performance.
  • Ability to visualize application requirement in API / data domain.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, analytical skills and ability to link strategies to business priorities and initiatives.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a dynamic high-growth environment with aggressive timelines.
  • Ability to proactively identify gap and address data operation / performance related issues.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new business domains and technologies.
  • Ability to conceptualize and articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Hands-on experience with modern enterprise data architecture and data science toolkits.
