We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our team. In this role, you will analyze complex datasets, build predictive models, and generate actionable insights to drive our business decisions. The understanding of ETL processes to prepare data for analysis is crucial for the work. Your ability to understand the business context, coupled with your technical expertise, will be essential in helping us to leverage the data for our strategic advantage. You will work closely with Data Engineers and other stakeholders to ensure that our data-driven initiatives are successful.

About the team

Our team has been the driving force for innovation in the area of document automation within the PwC Network. The team operates document automation platform that is being used in almost 50 countries, will soon provide the services to the whole PwC Network globally and expand to external markets. Our team provides broad range of services, such as solution design, software implementation, software development and integrations, application management and maintenance, robotic process automation or data analytics. About your manager

Radek works as a Tech-team leader in the Document Automation (DA) team, leading the IT division of the DA team. His team is responsible for taking care of all IT related aspects of the existing solutions as well as the new IT projects – spanning from ensuring smooth operation of the existing systems, infrastructure and services to creating new applications (for internal and external clients) using the top tier technology. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoor exploring new places, driving, playing speed-chess or just watching any good movies.

Job description & summary

Primary focus is analyzing and interpreting complex data to derive insights and drive decision-making and building analytical models and machine learning algorithms, working with underlying data.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights.

  • Develop, validate, and deploy statistical models and machine learning algorithms.

  • Design and conduct experiments to test hypotheses and validate models.

  • Create visualizations and dashboards to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure data quality and accessibility.

  • Understand the ETL/ELT processes to prepare data for analysis.

  • Clean, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources.

  • Translate business questions into data-driven solutions and actionable insights.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning.

Requirements of the role

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.

  • Understanding of statistical methods and hypothesis testing.

  • Proficiency with data visualization tools is a must (e.g. Power BI, others).

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Experience with designing and implementing ETL/ELT processes is a plus.

  • Experience with big data libraries is a plus (e.g. Delta-lake, MLflow, PySpark)

  • Experience with machine learning libraries is a plus (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with big data technologies (preferably Data Bricks, Spark).

  • Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure).

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
