Job Description

The Chief Administrative Office (CAO) Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) is responsible for the overall data strategy, analytics, reporting, and governance across the firm’s CAO functions. This function supports groups such as Global Supplier Services, Global Security, Global Real Estate, Amenity Services, Document & Business Solutions, and CAO Strategic Initiatives. Our team’s mission is to help our organization manage its data assets and find the best solutions to surface insights from our data in an effort to drive business goals & initiatives, enhance analytics, and streamline reporting. In doing so, we look for improvements ranging from establishing quality data repositories to designing cutting edge analytic insights utilizing the latest data visualization and machine learning tools.

CAO’s Data Strategy Program is responsible for outlining and executing a plan to manage its data more strategically, building a data ecosystem in the public cloud that enables data-driven decision making, fosters innovation and collaboration, and ensures data quality, integrity, and security through proper governance and controls. The Data Strategy Program is a cross-functional program bringing together stakeholders and contributors across Data Governance, Technology, and Business groups to drive progress.

We are seeking a Data Strategy Program Manager to lead and oversee the fulfillment of objectives related to the Data Strategy Program, including oversight of program governance, program metrics and reporting, communications, initiative inventories, and business case development. The Data Strategy Program Manager will facilitate program outputs, including related whitepapers, a playbook of repeatable processes, and data product projects. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and project management skills and be comfortable working with a mix of technical and non-technical stakeholders. They will have experience in either program or product management and may have experience building and/or leading data strategy or data governance programs focusing on such principles as data risk management, data quality, or data product management.

The Data Strategy Program Manager will report directly to the Data Strategy team lead within the CAO CDAO but have additional accountability to the Data Governance team within the CAO CDAO. They will also participate in firmwide forums to receive and present guidance on governance and technology to drive a cohesive direction in CAO aligned to firmwide standards.

The successful candidate will be viewed as a subject matter expert for CAO’s Data Strategy Program, and will be relied upon to drive the strategy and vision of the program while facilitating execution of key deliverables.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive program roadmap that aligns with our organization’s overall objectives, including a focus on advanced analytics
  • Gather and maintain a list business priorities and related initiatives, and develop and manage ongoing prioritization for Data Strategy initiatives
  • Management of whitepapers related to CAO’s Data Strategy in coordination with the Data Governance and CAO Technology teams
  • Management of the CAO Data Strategy Playbook in coordination with the Data Governance and CAO Technology teams, outlining repeatable processes for continued program success
  • Ensure seamless integration of data initiatives into existing processes, practices, and technology infrastructure
  • Perform Project Management related to Data Strategy initiatives, ensuring stakeholder engagement and alignment, status updates, and issue escalation
  • Facilitate updates and alignment with the CAO Data Governance Council
  • Design program success measures and metrics aligned to organizational goals, and communicate progress and related reporting to senior executives
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with various business groups and corporate functions to adhere CAO’s Data Strategy to firmwide standards
  • Directly support execution of the Data Strategy Program being performed by Data Governance and CAO Technology partners
  • Other general ongoing program management and communications responsibilities as they relate to the Data Strategy
  • Enhance the above with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Execution of the above with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness of meeting deliverables on prescribed timetables / calendars 

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • 7+ years of relevant industry knowledge, ideally coupled with consulting, data governance, technology strategy, or technology product management experience
  • 3+ years coordinating projects, programs, and/or products across multiple teams/constituents
  • Experience leading or managing programs related to data platforms, data products, data governance, and/or data strategies strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to summarize technical concepts to business stakeholders and translate business needs to technical tasks
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills with an ability to coordinate and delegate across functional groups
  • Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies
  • General understanding of data systems, data structures, and data analysis including artificial intelligence a plus
  • Interpersonal and relationship-building skills – with an ability to influence
  • Must be comfortable speaking to senior management and presenting ideas
  • Ability to run meetings across diverse functions, locations, and businesses
  • Bachelor’s degree required, technical or advanced degree a plus
