About this role

The BlackRock Private Markets Technology (BPMT) team within Aladdin Engineering is seeking a passionate and innovative Associate to join our dynamic team in Belgrade.  

 

BPMT is dedicated to digitally transforming BlackRock’s private markets investment teams by leveraging the breadth of BlackRock’s technology platform.  The team transforms business requirements into cutting-edge technical solutions, oftentimes partnering with our Engineering and Product Management teams to ensure on-desk developments for our internal users benefit the wider external client base.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic Investment Solutions:  Understand investment objectives and deliver private market solutions, primarily utilizing Aladdin and eFront. 

  • Process Optimization: Analyze core business processes and interactions to improve efficiency through a deep understanding of investment team and other front officer personnel. 

  • Workflow Design: Lead and document investment and operational workflow design sessions for private market investment teams across all strategies including Private Equity, Private Credit, Infrastructure, Real Estate and Multi-Alternative Solutions teams. 

  • Technological Implementation: Implement eFront technology to automate core business processes and design desktop technologies for critical investment processes. 

  • Scale Private Markets Data: Develop and maintain a single source of truth by establishing an enterprise data platform and build data-centric self-service environments. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Aladdin Product Management, Aladdin Engineering, BlackRock Tech & Operations and other partner teams in the One BlackRock community to evolve BlackRock’s platform for private markets. 

  • High-Quality Product Delivery: Develop and deliver high-quality products by engaging with the team and tech subject matter experts across the firm. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience: 3-6 years of experience in financial services, specifically in technology, analytics, operations, risk management, or data management.  Private markets investments experience preferred. 

  • Education: Advanced degree in finance, accounting, economics, computer science, or data engineering. Industry-specific certifications (e.g., CFA, CAIA) are preferable. 

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal teams across the globe. 

  • Communication skills: Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly. 

  • Relevant Work Experience: Prior experience in software development, data science & engineering, portfolio analytics, and business process reengineering. 

  • Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with eFront, Aladdin, or other Private Markets Technology products is a plus. 

  • Technical Skills: Technical proficiency in range of technologies including .NET (VB, C#, ASP.NET), SQL, Python, BI Tools (Power BI, Tableau), SQL and in working with large data sets at scale. 

  • Problem-Solving: Excellent creative, analytical, and problem-solving skills with an entrepreneurial approach to large, complex projects.

Our hybrid work model
