Job Description

We are seeking a Director, Data Engineering who excels at creating, enhancing, maintaining, and managing meta data-driven, big data processing platforms. You will work with passionate Data engineers and QA engineers. You will collaborate with Data Management, Operations, and Delivery teams to provide marketing-focused data solutions to our customers. You will provide hands-on technical leadership, guiding and mentoring global team members, leading major projects, assigning technical workloads, and ensuring we improve and provide high quality solutions that build incremental value for our customers. You will lead a team that embraces change, solves problems, and is passionate about innovation. You will report to the Vice President, Data Engineering. This is a remote role.

Responsibilities:

  • You will analyze, standardize, classify and manage data from different sources, following a structured data management process and industry standards.
  • You will collaborate with Product Management and cross organizational leaders to produce and maintain a directional roadmap and manage priorities according to our needs
  • You will evaluate, determines, obtains approval, and manages to a budget, including infrastructure, software, and cloud-based costs
  • You will provide hands-on daily mentoring to team members as they develop strategies, plans, designs, code, and scripts.
  • You will review strategies, plans, designs, code and analyze data results to provide high quality solutions
  • You will assess, recommend, and implement improvements, driving innovation, evaluating new approaches, industry standards, design patterns, new tooling.
  • You will lead a motivated team that produces high quality solutions and meeting goals.
  • You will collaborate with IT to create environments for Development and QA

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or other equivalent experience
  • 8+ years’ experience in leading teams
  • 8+ years’ or equivalent experience in developing and implementing production grade big data pipeline solutions or systems
  • 5+ years’ experience with SQL, relational databases, and data warehouses
  • 3+ years’ experience with Python
  • 3+ years’ experience in cloud base technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • 3+ years’ experience working in Agile teams
  • 2+ years’ experience with Snowflake
  • Experience with Bash, Korn shell or similar scripting
  • Experience with Linux; experience with Windows is desired
  • Experience with Jenkins, Airflow, or other orchestration tools
  • Experience with code repositories such as Git, Bitbucket, Github.

Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $136,000-$219,650. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
