We are growing and looking for an analytical Director, Data Strategy and Operations to join our team. The Director, Data Strategy and Operations, plays a pivotal role in driving Quest’s mission to leverage proprietary data effectively. This visionary leader will spearhead the strategic application of data, including AI and ML, across various functions to enhance analytics usability, democratize data access, and drive efficiency. By formulating and executing a comprehensive data strategy, they will facilitate targeted stakeholder engagement, fostering improved collaborative problem-solving. This position is instrumental in fostering innovation within the organization and across health plan networks.
What you’ll do:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a unified data strategy encompassing AI/ML initiatives, data governance, and management to achieve Quest’s mission and objectives.
- Team Development: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of data professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Client Services to optimize data usage, enhance outcomes, and drive efficiencies.
- Analytic Architecture and Integration: Oversee the design and application of data solutions, including AI/ML models, to address complex challenges in provider and payer data management, driving product sales and utilization growth.
- Data Governance and Compliance: Develop policies and procedures for data management in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Data Quality Management: Implement processes for data quality improvement and monitoring to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Advanced Analytics and Business Intelligence: Leverage data analytics, machine learning, and AI to derive actionable insights for informed decision-making.
- Data Literacy and Culture: Promote a data-driven culture and enhance data literacy across the organization to empower teams in leveraging data effectively.
- Innovation in Data Technologies: Stay abreast of emerging data technologies and trends, driving innovation and adoption within the organization.
- Ethical AI and Responsible Data Use: Implement ethical AI guidelines and practices to ensure responsible data usage.
- Sustainable Data Practices: Incorporate eco-friendly data storage and processing methods into data operations.
- Vendor Management: Explore new data sources, lead source validation, participate in contracting terms and devise integration plans.
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, bioinformatics, business, mathematics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience focused on data strategy, management, and governance in healthcare/life sciences.
- Proven record in designing and implementing data solutions, including AI/ML models, within the healthcare sector.
- Strong understanding of healthcare-related data structures, modeling, and governance.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards related to data usage and privacy.
- Experience with enterprise data architecture design and deployment.
- Proficiency with technology solutions supporting data exchange, governance, storage, analytics, and visualization.
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and technologies.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in driving cultural change towards a data-driven mindset.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a healthcare setting.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a related field.
- Certifications in data management or related areas.
- Experience with emerging commercial and open-source technologies such as Databricks and Snowflake.
