Job Description

A highly experienced and visionary Director to lead the Technology and Data Operations Transformation within our Tax Practice. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of tax technology tools, data management frameworks, and emerging technologies impacting the tax industry. This role demands a strategic leader who can drive innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver exceptional value to our clients.

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive technology and data transformation strategy for the Tax Practice, aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Technology Adoption: Lead the integration of advanced tax technology solutions, including tax compliance software, data analytics platforms, automation tools, and cloud-based systems.
  • Data Management: Oversee the implementation of data management and governance frameworks to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.
  • Emerging Technologies: Stay abreast of emerging technology trends (e.g., AI, RPA, blockchain) and assess their applicability to enhance tax operations and services.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders—Tax Partners, IT, and Data Analytics teams—to drive technology initiatives and ensure seamless integration.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external technology vendors and service providers to leverage optimal solutions.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a team of technology and data professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
  • Change Management: Drive change management efforts to ensure the successful adoption of new technologies and practices across the Tax Practice.
  • Compliance: Ensure all technology and data operations comply with regulatory requirements, data privacy laws, and internal policies.
  • Business Development: Support business development by showcasing the firm’s technology capabilities to clients and prospects.

  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years in technology transformation roles within the tax or financial services industry.
  • Tax Technology Expertise: Extensive knowledge of tax processes, regulations, and technology solutions supporting tax compliance and advisory services.
  • Project Leadership: Proven track record of leading large-scale technology transformation projects, including implementing tax technology systems like Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, Vertex, or SAP Tax solutions.
  • Data Analytics and Automation: Strong understanding of data analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI) and automation technologies (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism).
  • Cloud Computing: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience integrating cloud-based solutions.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, PMP, CISA) preferred.
  • Innovation: Demonstrated ability to leverage emerging technologies to enhance business processes.
