Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a visionary Distinguished Scientist with a profound expertise in Observability. A successful candidate will be a driving force in technological innovation, spearheading research and formulating groundbreaking solutions, promoting ML standards, scalable and reliable solutions. This is a strategic and instrumental role in enhancing our AI and ML capabilities around infrastructure observability by taking innovative approaches/ideas and guiding their implementation at an enterprise scale

Primary Objectives

The role will be charged with extensive literature reviews aimed at staying on the forefront of AI/ML advancements and critically evaluating new and existing observability solutions, pinpointing limitations, and devising innovative solutions.

The individual will engage proactively with cross-disciplinary teams, such as software engineers, data scientists and data engineers to scout and secure relevant datasets; meticulously preprocess data to ensure high quality and applicability for training and testing ML models.

Take charge of disseminating research findings via papers, conferences, blog posts and presentation and convey complex AI/ML concepts clearly to a range of audiences, from non-technical to domain experts.

Mentor junior researchers, nurturing a collaborative and inventive research environment.

Partner with Product and ML Leaders to optimize /mature existing products and introduce new solutions to existing platforms, while improving the organizational decision making and know-how; identifying/introducing trends and advancing overall data strategy

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of overall experience in a combination of Infrastructure, Data science and/ or Observability.
  • 5+ years of experience in applying AI/ML in AI Ops/Observability.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale AI/ML solutions, with a passion for extracting insights from data and deep understanding of analytics, technology, architecture, automation, and governance.
  • Profound understanding of the merits of applying new and trivial ML concepts to Logging data.
  • Knowledge of modern cloud architecture best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire engineering teams.

Education
PhD or Master’s degree in AI/ML, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or equivalent experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$175,100.00 – $334,800.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
