The opportunity:
An excellent opportunity has arisen in the UK Planning and Performance Management (PPM) Expenses team, focussed on increasing our centralised processing capabilities and driving forward our digital transformation journey, making a real difference to our ways of working. This new role has been created within the team alongside a transformation project focussed on delivering change, presenting an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to make a real impact.
To be successful in the role, you’ll be energetic and inquisitive, with a drive to develop and build on your existing skill set. You’ll be confident in collaborating with multiple teams, resilient and able to adapt to changing priorities. You’ll demonstrate clear ownership of tasks and an ability to effectively prioritise deliverables.
You’ll be working as part a team responsible for the accounting, reporting, forecasting and planning of the UK direct expense base, across both its P&C and Life businesses. As a PPM team, we pride ourselves on providing real value add and delivering for our customers, being dynamic and agile with a thirst for learning. You’ll be part of a diverse and experienced team, operating in a place where you can develop and grow.

What will you be doing?
- Responsible for on time and accurate delivery of assigned regular tasks.
- Provide ad-hoc data analysis.
- Identification of opportunities to simplify and streamline processes and tasks, working with stakeholders to fully understand current process challenges and complexities.
- Lead on continuous improvement projects to enhance models and reporting processes.
- Design robust and effective solutions that align with our transformation journey and principles of simplification and standardisation.
- Drive forward implementation and manage transition, tracking progress and communicating status to customers / management.
- Create and maintain control and process documentation.
- Provide technical support to the wider team and assist with query resolution.
- Build strong relationship with the Finance Transformation team to leverage and share knowledge and expertise and ensure optimal solutions for Finance as a whole.
What are we looking for?
- High level of computer and data literacy (eg. SQL, Excel, Power BI / Query / Automate
- Experience of SAP and PAX desirable but not essential.
- Good understanding of financial mechanics and accounting principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and a high level of agility
- Good customer focus – a keenness to understand other people’s challenges and help identify solutions.
- Innovative and curious, a quick learner who demonstrates ownership and accountability for tasks, able to operate with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple deliverables.
- Enthusiastic, professional and positive attitude who thrives operating within a diverse and dynamic team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
