About the role:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced data engineer to join Group Functions IT at Swiss Re in Hyderabad. You would join a highly talented and motivated team working on implementing a Finance Transformation based on cutting edge streaming architecture with kafka streams based integration.  

  

Your main tasks:

  • You implement secure, compliant and cloud native data integration solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • You focus on developing API-centric apps, know the digital ecosystem and integrate your solution with ease with external services.
  • Develop components that enable quality, re-usability, scalability, availability and maintainability in accordance with the overall business strategy and IT standards.
  • Perform peer code reviews.
  • Present and communicate ideas and design to various stakeholder for review and brainstorming.
  • You embrace the DevSecOps culture, automate everything and enable continuous delivery of secure and high-quality software, delivering valuable features at a very fast pace!
  • Continuously improve the architecture and design of our systems
  • Ensure technical design and implementation are in line with architecture and meet quality requirements (e.g., performance, reliability, availability)
  • Implement software engineering practices to ensure the quality, performance, and maintainability of our applications
  • Mentor and support professional skill development of junior colleagues, addressing complex issues and sharing your experience with others

About you:

Are you a self-starter with a keen interest in new technology and motivated, energetic and enthusiastic about using technology to address business challenges? Can you bring new digital solutions and business processes to life through creation of the right culture?
 

  • Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, storage systems, cloud infrastructure.
  • 8+ years of hands-on Software Development experience with Java 1.8 onwards preferably with some experience Java 17.
  • Experience in developing APIs with Spring Boot is a must. Experience with Spring cloud would be a plus.
  • Experience with implementing Integrations based on Kafka is a must.
  • Experience with Kafka Streams would be a plus.
  • Experience working with a public cloud platform(Azure, GCP, AWS etc.,) is a must.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams with both technical and non-technical individuals in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • University degree (or similar) in Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Statistics or Engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • English fluent is a requirement.
