Who we are
Data is one of the foundations of ING’s strategy to become one digital bank, and Data Operations is the place to operationalize and execute our data strategy. The Data Operations organization will fulfil ING’s strong belief that data is key in ING’s ambition to become a data-driven digital bank, where we need more granular data of high quality to manage the bank-wide (customer-) processes, modeling, and decision-making. As the Expert Lead Global Data Quality, you will be part of Data Operations and will be key in delivering our promise of “ensuring data quality” for ING across the globe.
Job description
With growing data consumption and regulatory demands for data quality, we must uphold high Data Quality standards. The Global Data Quality team implements ING’s Data Quality strategy globally, ensuring top-tier data standards. As Expert Lead Global Data Quality, you’ll lead a team of consultants to enhance ING’s data quality efforts. This team drives strategic data quality improvements through innovative practices, demand prioritization, and stakeholder engagement to ensure excellence in data quality management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Data Quality consultants, setting a vision, providing guidance to ensure high performance and professional growth and be the senior counterpart for the key moments/most important assignment/senior stakeholders
- Work closely with the Global Head of Data Quality, the DQ Product Lead and DQ Super Circle Lead to develop and execute ING’s data quality strategy and roadmap, preparing plans to deliver priorities and monitoring progress on initiatives and day-to-day activities.
- Drive project-based activities such as enhancing dashboards, explore automation opportunities, roll out global initiatives and tools (e.g., Pegasus), and address high-impact regulatory requests (e.g., JST, ECB).
- Lead the implementation of the Data Quality Target Operating Model, identifying and implementing process improvements, mobilizing commitment, and monitoring progress to achieve the desired outcomes.
- Deliver advice to support decision making and enable execution – highlighting the qualitative and quantitative impact of different scenarios.
- Guide the delivery of external/internal reports, assisting the preparation of ING Data Quality facts for senior management and regulatory parties (MBB, MBB-1, ECB, JST). Pro-actively signal upcoming challenges that block delivery of impact and propose remediation plans
- Design and develop tailored sessions to senior stakeholders on data quality topics.
- Identify the capabilities needed to meet current and emerging needs, evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities.
- Perform horizon scans for industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data
quality management, and proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Work on standardization and centralization of our data quality efforts across multiple locations and cultures, and maximize the principles of digitalization to ensure our human efforts are focused on improving our client experience.
- Identify and build a strong network with international key stakeholders to influence proper delivery of our strategy
- Encourage the sharing of knowledge and the building of the team. Lead by example and be an ambassador of the Orange Code behaviours. Contribute to the creation of the culture within the domain. Enable the development of capabilities for the team members. Encourage close collaboration.
We are looking for you:
Commercially oriented, with a focus on driving business value and aligning data quality initiatives with organizational goals. Soft skills, organizational and cultural sensitivity, influencing, combined with the right attitude are key. Your professional experience clearly demonstrates you are able to operate in a Data environment and to bring content to the table.
Furthermore, you are/have:
- 15+ years of experience in the financial industry
- Proven track record in driving change and leading operations at senior level in different domains of the banking/financial industry,
- International experience leading large-scale projects in a global organization
- Outstanding entrepreneurial skills within corporate environment and ideally experienced in a strategy/ consulting environment
- Able to translate complex topics into a compelling story
- Experience within at least 2-3 areas of the bank is a plus: Private Individuals, Business Banking, Wholesale Banking, Operations, Risk, etc. Extensive experience establishing executive relationships and influencing decision-making
- Experienced manager, having effectively led teams in the bank, bringing impact through inspiring and energetic leadership. Excellent motivator, including high cultural sensitivity
- Strong business acumen with organized, balanced, and collaborative operating style
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and internal network within the bank and a demonstrated ability to drive change
- Firm believer in the ING hubs strategy
- Anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders
- Highly analytical with the ability to swiftly identify core issues
- Results oriented and driven to make a real impact, always putting customer needs and motivations at the core
- Excellent collaboration & communication skills, adept at conveying messages across all organizational levels, with outstanding English proficiency in both written and verbal communication
- Ability to operate in a global organization, work successfully in multiple countries, and ensure different cultures work together as one team
