World Vision Internships provide a three-month opportunity for exceptional students and recent graduates ready to explore a career in the international relief and development sector. BEFORE APPLYING, make sure you meet the following requirements:

Able to commit to at least 24 hours per week for the entire internship period: 20 May – 16 August.

Eligible to work in the United States.

Must have a valid US Social Security Number.

Be physically located in one of the following states where WVI is registered as an employer: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

Current student or recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within 2 years).

Adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith.

Willingness to use own electronic devices for internship purposes, and disposition to let WVI install endpoint security software on those devices.
DETAILS

Stipend: All US-based interns are paid a monthly stipend of $800

Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (24-40 hours/week)

Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related disciplines.
INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION
The Global Assurance & Advisory (GAA) teamwork gives confidence to Leadership, Boards, donors, partners, and other stakeholders that World Vision operations are well run, the organization takes wise stewardship seriously, and no blind spots or rocks are looming just below the surface. It also gives recommendations and/or advice to help navigate around potential risks ahead of time.
The Opportunity
As a Finance & Data Analytics Intern, you will have the opportunity to:

Collaborate with members of the GAA Operations Team to ensure timely maintenance, analysis, and validation of existing data models.

Assist with the development and enhancements of GAA Data, by interrogation and analysis of key data sets for Reporting to various stakeholders (GAA Senior Leadership; Finance, etc)

The intern’s responsibilities will include:

Data Extraction and Transformation: with guidance from the GAA Audit Management System (AMS) Project Manager, extract relevant data from the AMS system, transform this data into a usable format for analysis, and load the data into existing analytics tools or platforms (particularly PowerBI).

Data Modelling for Quarterly Cost Allocation Process: working closely with GAA Operations Global Director – GAA Operations and GAA’s Finance Business Partner, develop and/or enhance existing tools for functional data models or reports for quarterly cost allocation reporting

Data Visualization: Utilize data visualization tools to represent audit findings, insights, and patterns clearly and interactively.

Data Analysis for Executive Reporting: Working closely with the GAA Business Analyst to perform analysis and prepare reports for Executives
Essential qualities for this role:
-
You are knowledgeable in accounting and finance, and/or have a professional certification in Accounting. At a minimum possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance and/or be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).

You have experience working with data extraction and interrogation software, such as Power BI Data Modelling.

You are knowledgeable in performing complex analyses, understanding multiple data sources, and drawing meaningful and actionable insights.

You are knowledgeable in preparing visual presentations using Microsoft Office

You are knowledgeable in Database Languages.

You are knowledgeable or have experience with Programming/Coding/Scripting.

You have experience interacting, communicating, and collaborating with others to effectively achieve a desired outcome.
